Formed in July 2021, Goodley McCarthy LLC is a workers’ rights law firm with a busy labor and employment litigation practice. Goodley McCarthy represents labor unions and workers in complex state and federal litigation, including class action lawsuits for unpaid minimum, overtime, and prevailing wages. We also represent individual employees in claims for unlawful retaliation, discrimination, and harassment.
We seek an associate with zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in labor, employment, and litigation to assist with the firm’s growing caseload. Candidates should share our commitment to advancing the goals of the labor movement and the rights of working people to fair wages and working conditions.
Ideal candidates will have excellent research, writing and analytical skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with labor unions and workers. Some experience with litigation (e.g., drafting complaints, legal briefs, written discovery) is highly preferred.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include: client intake and case investigation; representing clients in federal and state courts; drafting complaints, legal briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents; reviewing and producing discovery; filing legal documents with federal and state courts; Freedom of Information Act requests; and generally assisting the firm’s partners with all aspects of litigation.
This is a remote position so candidates from anywhere in the United States may apply, but preference may be given to candidates in the greater Philadelphia region.
The associate salary will be $65,000-$75,000 per year, depending on experience (with opportunity for growth as the firm grows).
